As Principal of Lamorinda Advisors, Maureen provides customized investment management consulting services for fund sponsors, fund trusts, institutional investors and family office clients. Her professional services include chief investment officer and investment risk manager roles, due diligence, independent trustee, new product development and implementation and litigation support.
Maureen Freeman has over 25 years of senior institutional investment management experience. Her responsibilities have included direct client relationship management, reporting, portfolio management, new product development and launch, investment implementation, transition management, trading, research and regulatory compliance.
Prior to founding Lamorinda Advisors in 2015, Maureen was the Global Head of Investment Risk Management at AXA Rosenberg Investment Management, the quantitative equities unit of AXA Investment Managers. She joined the firm in 1987 as a startup that grew to peak assets of approximately USD $130 Billion. Maureen’s prior roles at AXA Rosenberg included Deputy Chief Investment Officer (North America) and Director, Portfolio Management.
During her tenure she was seconded to the firm’s London office and regularly interacted with offices and clients in Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney. She covered a wide range of innovative equities investment strategies and structures including US, global, emerging markets, enhanced index and smart beta.
Maureen is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter-holder. She earned an MBA in finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in finance from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley.
